The IPA is excited to announce the addition of two new Field Service Specialists who will serve Chicago and the IPA’s North, West, and South Cook Regions. Dr. Angela Buckels and Dana Butler, both recently retired from Chicago Public Schools, bring a wealth of expertise and experience to their positions. Dr. Buckels began her career in CPS in 1985, having served many roles within the district, including teacher, curriculum specialist, professional development provider, assistant principal, principal, Deputy for the Office of Professional Development, Deputy for the Office of P-12 Management and lastly, Director of the Parent Support Center. Mr. Butler spent his career in CPS as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal of Irma Ruiz Elementary School leading the school to a Level 1+ School Quality Rating. He was recognized for his leadership by being awarded the Golden Apple Foundation’s 2016 Stanley C. Golder award and featured in the IPA’s very first IPA Stories.
Both Dr. Buckels and Mr. Butler remain steadfast, motivated, and optimistic in their pursuit to continue to support our school leaders. According to IPA Executive Director Dr. Jason Leahy, “The IPA is long overdue in providing target field service support for Chicago. We could not have more qualified or more quality people than Dr. Buckels and Mr. Butler joining the IPA team to directly support principals and other building leaders in Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Archdiocese, and our Cook Regions overall.”
